Chairman’s Message
For more than two decades and inspired by its call “TO SERVE SO THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE”, ERUF has collectively worked together to live up its Mission and Vision and standing resolutely on the front lines to provide the community a professional and effective emergency response to the public safety and emergency needs.
The devastation caused by recent typhoons in the country has brought its own reminder that Mother Nature is still a devastating force to be reckoned.
The future outlook for natural disasters does not give us any reason to be optimistic. Communities therefore must rise to new levels of preparedness and security, each Filipino must choose to make emergency planning a part of their life at home, at work and in our children’s school.
This brings into focus an important part of our Vision – to initiate training programs for effective response and preparedness within the community.
The business of emergency services lies in many hands. Fellow citizens rely on our response, knowledge, and – often times our courage and bravery to keep them safe. But ERUF could not be in all places at all times. The Mission of making ERUF a primary source of Paramedic Training for all barangays should be an immediate priority more than ever.
The heart and soul of ERUF depends on the workers and volunteers. Our strength will come from fellow citizens who know what they are going to do in the event of an emergency.
We shall therefore continue to work hard with more training workshops to better prepare for all emergencies wrought by disaster or design. It is something that the emergency rescue units and communities can relate to in recent days – patients, emergencies, diseases and natural disasters do not take days off.
We can do this together as one community. We can do this together as one country.
